Contact: David RoonFunding Status: Not funded, but will help obtain funding Short description: David Roon (ECB director) is currently working on an MFA degree. One project he wants to develop is an example of 'reconciliation art' (art that provides habitat or ecosystem services). For some existing examples, please view Jackie Brookner's work. There are several possible examples... 1) Building a 'Rhizotron (underground soil research and viewing installation) for the McCall field station 2) Constructing sculpture based on beaver or otter that would serve to filter water in Paradise Creek or the Moscow Arboretum. These are project options. The student would research the functional role of these objects, and would participate in design and installation. A good opportunity for someone with an interest in integration science, art, and education.
